Riverfront Children's center began as the YWCA child care center caring for only 20 Electric Boat Preschoolers in one classroom in 1983. Through the years we have expanded into the remainder of the building, increasing out childcare capacity and eliminating the YWCA function. In 1995 we officially split from YWCA and incorporated as 501(c)3 non-profit (The Riverfront Children's Center, Incorporated) into our current program.
Today we are currently licensed to serve 97 children at one time. Through space sharing we, we currently have up to 107 children per day. A building renovation project completed in 2002 made this increase in our program size possible. |
